Will the President Veto this pork laden bill?

The Senate approved a 1.1 trillion spending bill that has over 5000 pork projects added on. I distinctly remember hearing the president saying during the campaign, “I will veto any bill that is loaded with pork projects”.

I can hear the comment now. If the bill is not signed the government will shut down and that cannot be allowed. Next time the pork laden bill will be vetoed.

Nothing has changed. It is politics as usual. The change we can believe in is missing in action. After all it was just a campaign promise.

  1. I think, that any bill calling for $1.1 trillion budget is necessarily going to have pork projects, which are not intrinsically bad.

And as far as not having the change you wanted, I think that its important to keep in mind that it’s barely been a year since we elected him, and hasn’t quite been a year since he’s actually been in office.

Also, the budget was passed by both the house and the senate, and if this is the case, then there apparently isn’t anything to crazy wrong with it that hasn’t been addressed by members of congress.

Spend all the money in the world, it doesn’t matter when you can make money out of thin air.
