Presidents approval rating below fifty

Real Clear Politics reports that the President’s approval rating has dropped below fifty for the first time. The number today is 49.9. I follow Real Clear Politics poll because their poll is the average figure of all the polls. This tends to level out the polls that usually show more negative numbers such as Rasmussen, and Fox News. On the other hand CBS and CNN tend to show higher positive numbers for the President. In my opinion this average is a more accurate number than individual polls that show obvious bias.

On February 9th the presidents’ poll numbers showed 65.4. This is a fifteen point drop since February. One could come to the conclusion that his shine and luster is becoming a little tarnished. I did not vote for the President but after he won I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt and support him until there are indications of what direction he attempts to steer the country. Unfortunately there are not many issues I now agree with the President.

I am a sixty-seven year old married man retired collecting Social Security and a small pension. My wife and I have a Medicare Advantage program and we are satisfied with the program.  We have very little debt and living within our means. Retirement is supposed to be a time of fun and leisure not fear and anxiety. Unfortunately I am experiencing fear and anxiety.

There are many issues that have affected my opinion of the President. The main issue is this health care threat. I have had health insurance throughout my life and used it very little. Now I am at the age where this insurance becomes important. Instead of feeling secure I am confronted with fear and anxiety because no one really knows or can explain to me how this mess is going to affect me. I predict medical rationing is in store for the entire country.

Another disappointment is the 787 billion stimulus bill. The president stated that unemployment would not go over eight percent if the bill was passed. Now unemployment has reached 10.2 percent. Where is the outrage? The President is getting a pass from the lame street media again. This bill may have worked if other uncertainty wasn’t created by health care reform and that looming cap and trade bill. Companies don’t know how much these bills are going to cost their bottom line and they are holding off hiring until they get a better handle on these looming expenses.

I could go on and on. Afghanistan should have been handled better. The President assigned his own general to direct the war. The general is a career soldier who has spent his entire life studying military strategy and operations. He gives his recommendations to the President and the President decides that he and other Washington aides know better than the general on the ground. Does this sound like Viet Nam all over?

Trying the 9/11 perpetrators in New York City do not set well with me. Get ready for the greatest circus of the decade. The Attorney General and the President has stated in public that they will be convicted. What happened to innocent until proven guilty?

For months the administration blamed the previous administration for everything. This excuse has run its course. When the President signed the stimulus bill he bought the economy. When the President ignored his general on the ground he bought Afghanistan. When the Presidents attorney general moved the 9/11 trials to New York City the president became responsible for the circus to come.

I am one of the 44.6  that disapproves of the President and the direction he is attempting to take the country.

Your elected officials at work

I received this in an e-mail and I want to pass on to as many as I can.

According to the Trustees for the Social Security Administration, “THERE WILL NOT BE A COST OF LIVING INCREASE FOR THE NEXT TWO YEARS IN SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS. ADDITIONALLY THEY WILL RAISE YOUR CO-PAY FOR YOUR RX MEDICARE BENEFITS”!

They, the Congress ( BOTH “REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS  TOGETHER”) say no increase is warranted because of the losses in gross national product and other cute things..

NOW HERE SPORTS FANS IS THE ONE THAT WILL FLIP YOU OUT!! —

THE SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION IS FUNDING TWENTY FOUR MILLION DOLLARS– LET ME REPEAT THAT AMOUNT… SO YOU UNDERSTAND IT… $24,000,000.00 DOLLARS FOR NEW ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORDS PROCESSING FOR OUR CONGRESSMEN AND SENATORS!!

THEY ARE OBTAINING THESE FUNDS and I QUOTE DIRECTLY FROM THE SOCIAL SECURITY WEBSITE……………

“THIS MONEY WILL BE COME FROM THE SAVINGS TO BE GENERATED FROM WITHHOLDING “COST OF LIVING INCREASES FOR 2010 & 2011 in SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS FOR THE ELDERLY AND A $2.00 INCREASE ON ALL MEDICARE RX BENEFIT CO-PAY”

Please excuse my FRENCH, But do the words “BULL ***” ring a bell ?

Please pass this to ALL your friends and have them “PROTEST TO THE IDIOTS WE ELECTED TO CONGRESS” who by the way, have just voted themselves ANOTHER 3% SALARY INCREASE!!!

We must put a stop to this outright thievery!  It is THE CONGRESS AND THE SENATE, BOTH REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS,  WE CAN’T FIRE THEM, BUT WE SURE AS HECK CAN NOT RE-ELECT THEM, and WE CAN IMPEACH THEM or DEMAND RECALL ELECTIONS!!!  HOW ABOUT WE ALL GET TOGETHER AND DUMP THESE CLOWNS.

Just watch. They will spend this money and find the software doesn’t work, dump the whole thing and go back to the old steam driven system just like they did with air traffic control several years ago.  Don’t worry though, they’ve got health care all worked out.

So here is what we CAN do….
All I ask is that you consider the suggestion here.

The entire Congress of the  United States is corrupt.  And I mean both Houses and I mean both major parties.

I realize that a few Members of each House are trustworthy, but, as a group they are absolutely the most corrupt bunch to ever disgrace our Nation.

In November of 2010 the entire House of Representatives will stand for re-election; all 435 of them. One third of the Senate, a total of 33 of them, will also stand for re-election.  Vote every incumbent out

And I mean every one of them.  No matter their Party  affiliation.  Let’s start all over in the House of Representatives with 435 people who have absolutely no experience in running that body, with no political favors owed to anyone but their own constituents.  Let’s make them understand that they work for us..

They are answerable to us and they simply have to run that body with some common sense.

Two years later, in 2012, vote the next third of the  incumbents in the Senate out.

We can do the same thing in 2014 and, by that time, we will have put all new people in that body as well.

We, the People, have got to take this Country back and we HAVE to do it peacefully.

That’s what the Framers of our Constitution envisioned.

I am also suggesting term limits on the NEW BUNCH –8 YEARS FOR REPRESENTATIVES AND 12 YEARS FOR SENATORS.  NO EXCEPTIONS.  THE LONGER THEY STAY IN OFFICE THE MORE POWER THEY GET AND THEY LOVE IT AND WILL DO ANYTHING TO GET RE-ELECTED.

WE HAVE TERM LIMITED THE PRESIDENT — NOW LET’S TERM LIMIT THE LEGISLATORS.

Please, if you love this Country, send this (as I have done) to  absolutely everyone whose email address appears in your address book..

This thing can permeate this Country in no time.  Let’s make it happen.**

VOTE THE POWER ABUSERS OUT……LET’S TAKE AMERICA BACK !!!!!!!!!

IF YOU LIKE THE WAY THINGS ARE GOING IN OUR COUNTRY, THEN DO NOTHING………

It appears that Senator Bennet won’t read the bill

I read in The Denver Post that Senator Bennet is willing to trade his job for health care reform. With that said he doesn’t need to read the two thousand page bill. He is just going to run off the cliff like one of the Lemmings for the good of the party.  It doesn’t make any difference to him what is in the bill. Good old Bill bennet will be a sacrificial lamb for the party.

This morning I happened to see an un-scientific poll on Facebook. It stated that 61% of the voters oppose the health care bill. The latest Rasmussen poll shows that 56% oppose this health care bill and an all time low of 38% supports the bill.  It is obvious that the majority of the voters are not in favor of this gigantic health care reform yet the politicians continue to attempt to cram this down our throats. The current elected officials do not even listen to their voters. They are too busy taking care of themselves, special interest groups and bankrupting the country.

The time has come to fire all these jokers and vote in legislators that represent you and uphold The Constitution of The United States.

Cash back scam!

Cash Back Scam “Warning” I dont know if this is true someone send to me; so I’m sending it to all of you, be careful; the holidays are coming up!!! This is pretty scary stuff and I’m sure it can happen snopes says at this time it’s undetermined so do what you like but it doesn’t hurt to be alert. It happened at Wal-Mart (Supercenter Store #1279), 10411 N Freeway 45, Houston , TX 77037 a month ago. I bought a bunch of stuff, over $150, and I glanced at my receipt as the cashier was handing me the bags. I saw a cash-back of $40. I told her I didn’t request a cash back & to delete it. She said I’d have to take the $40 because she couldn’t delete it. I told her to call a supervisor. Supervisor came & said I’d have to take it. I said NO! Taking the $40 would be a cash advance against my Discover & I wasn’t paying interest on a cash advance! If they couldn’t delete it then they would have to delete the whole order. So the supervisor had the cashier delete the whole order & re-scan everything! The second time I looked at the electronic pad before I signed & a cash-back of $20 popped up. At that point I told the cashier & she deleted it. The total came out right. The cashier agreed that the electronic pad must be defective. Obviously the cashier knew the electronic pad was defective because she NEVER offered me the $40 at the beginning.. Can you imagine how many people went through before me & at the end of her shift how much money she pocketed? Just to alert everyone. My co worker went to Milford , DE Wal-Mart last week. She had her items rung up by the cashier. The cashier hurried her along and didn’t give her a receipt. She asked the cashier for a receipt and the cashier was annoyed and gave it to her. My co worker didn’t look at her receipt until later that night. The receipt showed that she asked for $20 cash back. SHE DID NOT ASK FOR CASH BACK! My co-worker called Wal-Mart who investigated but could not see the cashier pocket the money. She then called her niece who works for the bank and her niece told her this. This is a new scam going on. The cashier will key in that you asked for cash back and then hand it to her friend who is the next person in line. Please, please, please check your receipts right away when using credit or debit cards! This is NOT limited to Wal-Mart, although they are the largest retailer so they have the most incidents I am adding to this. My husband and I were in Wal-Mart North Salisbury and paying with credit card when my husband went to sign the credit card signer he just happen to notice there was a $20 cash back added. He told the cashier that he did not ask nor want cash back and she said this machine has been messing up and she cancelled it. We really didn’t think anything of it until we read this email. I wonder how many “seniors” have been, or will be, “stung” by this one???? To make matters worse … THIS SCAM CAN BE DONE ANYWHERE, AT ANY RETAIL OR WHOLESALE LOCATION!!!

One more step to healthcare change

The Senate did it Saturday night. Sixty Democrats voted to debate healthcare reform on the floor of the Senate. America is one more step to the government taking over one-sixth of the economy. That is what the Democrats want, larger government and smaller individual choices. I will speculate that a gigantic healthcare bill will eventually be passed. I am sure they know that they will more than likely lose control of either the House or the Senate, possibly both and this could be the last chance to pass this large sweeping takeover. Senators and House Representatives up for re-election in 2010 were thrown under the bus to get the necessary votes to move reform onward. The majority of voters still do not agree with this reform. However, the Democrats chose to push their agenda instead of listening to the voters. After all, they know better.  The Democrats will more than likely pay for this move in 2010 and 2012.

In the Denver Post Sunday Anthem had a half page ad voicing their opposition to this gigantic bill. The point of the ad was to relay the fact that insurance premiums will increase dramatically with the passage of this bill. For example younger/healthy insured individuals will have a 140% increase in premiums. A small business will experience a 36% increase in premiums. Middle age/ average health will have a 52% increase and small business will be increase 9%. Older less healthy will have a decrease of 22% and business will decrease 9 %. If these facts are possible and I am a senior why am I opposed to the healthcare bill?

The reason I am opposed is that I am a Medicare Advantage policy holder and from all indications is that the Medicare Advantage programs are going to be gutted and possibly totally eliminated. I am satisfied with my healthcare coverage and why should I have to pay for this reform? Also, nowhere has it ever been explained how you can put an additional 36 million patients in the current medical system and rationing will not result. My logic tells me that the line will just get longer and that means longer waits to see a medical professional.  Would someone please explain to me why rationing will not happen?

Someone is going to have to pay for this gigantic entitlement program and that will mean higher taxes down the road. Wait a minute, didn’t I hear Obama say “no new taxes”. Maybe he wasn’t really serious?

Where are the jobs?

When the stimulus bill was passed in the spring the voters was told that unemployment would not rise over eight percent. Recently  the figure has reached 10.2 percent. By the way where is the public outrage? I have not heard the administrations excuse for this miscalculation. Somehow this will be blamed on the former administration. That excuse is the current administrations favorite excuse. However, that excuse has been worn out. Once the stimulus bill was passed the administration in power bought the economy.

Many times you hear reducing taxes is the only way to create jobs. That may be true but there are other events that kill the atmosphere for new job creation. Let’s review what has happened over the summer. GM and Chrysler were bailed out. The government is now a large owner of GM. Somewhere in the shadows is a Cap and Trade bill which could possibly increase the cost of energy for all companies. The healthcare reform bill debate  is going on hot and heavy. No one really knows what this bill is going to cost companies and the voting public. America’s debt continues to spiral upwards. The banks that received TARP money are having wages scrutinized and may be forced to reduce these large wage packages. Afghanistan indecision has not been resolved.

In addition to these governments created events there are international events that are creating additional problems. Iran is not any closer to a nuclear compromise. North Korea continues to cause friction. The Middle East problem continues to be far from resolved. We are still dependent on foreign oil. The world continues to be a dangerous place.

What are all these events creating? If you thought uncertainty you are correct. All of the above creates uncertainty in business decisions. I was responsible for a profit and loss statement for close to twenty years. When I was uncertain of a situation I waited and held back until the atmosphere cleared. I sure did not expand and hire new employees during a period of uncertainty. What would I do today if it was my responsibility? I would definitely wait until I knew how much this gigantic healthcare reform is going to cost the business. Also, the Cap and Trade legislation expense could be a big factor in adding new employees.

Both of these issues have been created by the current administration. Until this cloud is removed from the sky I predict that unemployment will not decline in the near future. The stimulus package may have worked alone. However, the other ambitions of the administration killed the benefits of the stimulus package. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.
